About
Root News is a reference implementation for rebuilding modern news websites on current architecture: fast editorial pages, disciplined CMS data access, visible trust signals, accessible interfaces, and agent-ready discovery.
Independent reporting, analysis, and guides on technology, media, business, culture, and digital publishing.
Our work starts where ordinary redesigns stop. We treat performance, search, answer-engine readiness, accessibility, newsletter capture, comments, advertising, structured data, database cost, and editorial credibility as one connected publishing system.
The research base behind this build cites 42 academic, industry, and official engineering sources. It includes Reuters Institute, Medill Spiegel Research Center, INMA, FT Strategies, WAN-IFRA, web.dev, Chrome Lighthouse, W3C WCAG 2.2, Google Search Central, Google Publisher Center, Schema.org, The Trust Project, Nielsen Norman Group, BBC GEL, Next.js, Payload, Vercel, Neon, and Chrome WebMCP guidance.
We ran detailed performance analysis across 438 publisher and news-site reports, then compared this build against those findings. The data was used to polish the interface and mitigate recurring failures found across the tested websites: unstable layout, weak machine readability, slow delivery paths, unclear trust signals, overfetching, inaccessible forms, and fragile editorial navigation.
